‌‌‌‌  英:extimacy;法:extimite

‌‌‌‌  拉康通过把前缀ex (来自exterieur, 即“外部的”)叠加于法文单词intimite (即“内心”“亲密”)而创造了extimite (即“外心性”)这个术语。由此产生的这个新词一在英文中可以译作“extimacy”一便巧妙地表达了精神分析以何种方式问题化了内部与外部、容纳者与容纳物之间的对立 (见:S7,139)。例如,实在界便既是内在又是外在的,而无意识也并非一个纯粹内部的精神系统,而是一个主体间的结构 (“无意识是外在的”)。再者,大他者也是“相异于我的某种东西,尽管它处在我的中心”(S7,71)。此外,主体的中心是外在的;主体是离心的 (见:E, 165,171)。外心性的结构被完美地表达在圆环面 (TORUS)与莫比乌斯带(MOEBIUS STRIP)的拓扑学之中

‌‌‌‌  雅克-阿兰·米勒在其1985一1986年度的研讨班上进一步发展了外心性的概念 (见:该期研讨班的摘要,以及Bracher et al., 1994中的其他相关文章)。

‌‌‌‌  (extimite) Lacan coins the term extimite by applying the prefix ex (from exterieur, exterior') to the French word intimite (intimacy'). The resulting neologism, which maybe rendered 'extimacy'in English, neatly expresses the way in which psychoanalysisproblematises the opposition between inside and outside, between container andcontained (see S7,139). For example, the real is just as much inside as outside, and theunconscious is not a purely interior psychic system but an intersubjective structure (theunconscious is outside'). Again, the Other is 'something strange to me, although it is atthe heart of me' (S7,71). Furthermore, the centre of the subject is outside; the subject isex-centric (see E, 165,171). The structure of extimacy is perfectly expressed in thetopology of the TORUS and of the MOEBIUS STRIP.

‌‌‌‌  The concept of extimacy has been further developed by Jacques-Alain Miller in hisseminar of 1985-6 (see the summary of this seminar and other related articles in Bracheretal., 1994).
